Cookbook Contest

Colorado Skies Photo Contest
Colorado Country Life is looking for the best photo of our Colorado sky. This is a broad subject with plenty of options for student photographers, hobbyists and professionals to get involved. Photograph wildlife in the foreground, power poles lining a country road or kids playing against the vastness of sky. You are limited only by your own creativity.
Judges will look for sharp images, good composition, interesting lighting and a relationship to our theme. First, second and third place will be awarded in each category, as well as one overall “Colorado Skies” award.
Rules and guidelines
1. Subject: Colorado skies in all their glory — blue, black, peaceful, stormy, skies of any description. We have them all here in Colorado.
2. Three categories:
• Photographers up to age 18.
• Adult photographers
• Professional photographers (if you make a living using
your camera)
First, second and third place will be awarded in each category.
3. Prizes include $250 for the overall Colorado Skies award. $100 for first place in each category, $75 for second place in each category and $50 for third place in each category.
4. To enter: Prints (glossy finish only) or CD. Resolution must be at least 300 dpi with photos at least 9x12 inches in size. Digital images must be submitted correctly and will not be judged unless it meets specifications.
With your entry, please submit either the entry form found on page 31 of the magazine OR fill out a 3x5" card with the following information: name, address (including city, state and zip), phone number, category (student, adult, professional), email address, information on subject, camera/film, your electric cooperative, and a signature that shows you give permission for CCL to use the photographs entered for promotional and fundraising purposes.
5. Send your entries to: Colorado Skies, Colorado Country Life, 5400 N. Washington St., Denver, CO 80216 or contests@coloradocountrylife.org. Deadline is November 21, 2008.
Limit three entries.
Note: By entering a print in the contest, the photographer automatically gives Colorado Country Life permission to publish the winning images and use them in future fundraising projects such as calendars and posters. Credit will be given to the photographer each time photo is used. If submit a photo and entry form electronically, your email is used as your signature.
